Standard Life pledge to shrink paper use by half

The UK insurance company Standard Life has become the first company to make a corporate pledge with the Shrink project.

Standard Life plans to reduce their paper consumption by 50% over the period between 2006 and 2012 by working throughout the company to eliminate wasteful use and making office practices more efficient. Congratulations to staff at Standard Life for making this ambitious commitment, which will save trees, energy, water, pollution and also money. We are delighted that Standard Life is showing leadership on this important issue and putting their corporate social responsibility policy into practice by setting a good example on sustainable consumption. Their pledge is a great demonstration of how everyone in Europe can use less paper, thus consuming a fairer share of this precious natural resource.
